In this step, you must install the software you downloaded in step 1 (Download All Tools for SSAS 2022) in order and principle on your system.

- Product Key > Enter the 25-character key
- License Terms > I Accept the License Terms
- Global Rules > Next
- Microsoft Update > Use Microsoft Update to Check for Updates > Next

Installing SSAS During SQL Server Installation
- Feature Selection > Select The Components That You Want To Install > Next
This window is where we need to install and activate the SSAS service and the other services we need for the rest of our work.
In this window, we should select the components we need to carry out their installation process. Here, we need this option called “Database Engine Services” for our work and to install the services relevant to the SQL server core. Another option we need to choose is “Analysis Services.”
By selecting these two options, we have both OLTP and OLAP databases at our command and can meet all the requirements of SSAS projects.
Continue to Install SQL Server 2019
- Instance Configuration > Select Either Default Instance or Named Instance
- Server Configuration > Determine The Usernames and Passwords | Choose Your Desired Language >Next
- Database Engine Configuration > Choose the authentication mode > Specify locations for storing files
- Ready to Install > See a Summary of All SQL Server Components > Install
- Installation Progress > Next
- Install Completion > Close

- Double Click on Setup.exe
- Installation (navigation bar on the left) > “New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation.”
- Select “Add features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2019” > Choose The Instance We Are Adding To > Next
- Check “Analysis Services” > Set “Instance root directory” > Next
- Configure “Account Name” | Specify which users will have administrator privileges for Analysis Services. > Set Startup to Automatic > Next
- Select ‘Server Mode’ | Tabular or Multidimensional
- Click “Data Directories” >
- Select “Add Current User” | To add the account that SQL Server Setup is running under > Ok > Next

- Double-click on the downloaded file
- Change the SSMS installation path if necessary > Install
- Close
4 Steps to Connect to SSMS
Set the Server Type on the Database Engine or Analysis Services
Select the Server Name and Authentication Type in this window
Enter the User Name and Password that you have specified in the install step
Finally, click on the Connect button
After running SSMS using one of these two methods, the SQL Server instance connection window opens up as illustrated in the figure below, and you can connect to a SQL Server instance.

If this window is not opened automatically, you can open it up manually from the Object Explorer > Connect > Database Engine path:

After running the above program, you need to select which SQL Server you want to connect to from the Server Type expanding list.
If you want to access OLTP databases, you must select the Database Engine option.
And if you want to use OLAP databases, select the Analysis Services option.

Click the Extensions Menu > Click on the “Manage Extensions” option

Search for “SSAS” in the search bar
You can see in this section that it has brought the Microsoft Analysis Services Projects 2022 for us with a download button beside it.
Click the Download Button

After the download process is done, we Double-Click on it for the SSAS to install.


Click the Install Button

- Close The Visual Studio (Click the End Tasks Button)


Click the “Close” button.

- Click the extension menu and click on the “manage extension” option.
- Search for “SSAS” in the search bar.
You can see in this section that it has brought the Microsoft Analysis Services Project for us with a download button beside it.
- I should first click on this button for the extension to download and then start installing it.
After clicking the download button of this extension, its download process starts.
- After the download process is done, we double-click on it for the SSAS to install.
- We select our desired language and click ok.
- We hit next in the next window.
- And eventually hit the “install” button for the SSAS installation to start.
- Click the “Close” button.
